Hello everyone!  We’re here to give Danny’s blog on his events of April, in true Danny fashion, a month overdue.  Sorry for the wait~  It’s a bit long so we’ll be dividing it into two parts, here’s part one!

.

HEY EVERYBODY!

.

.

You seem to be in a good mood…  I guess it’s cause you enjoyed all these events huh?  You certainly went to a bunch.

.

.

April just somehow ended up being packed with things to do.

.

.

Our first event is the Explosions in the Sky concert!  This was held on April 06 at Radio City Music Hall.

.

.

Quite a different atmosphere than your usual concerts!

.

.

Hmm indeed.  For starters, it was a much bigger venue with assigned seats, so no waiting for hours in line before the concert.  Also, everyone stayed seated during the show which felt very strange at first, but I feel Explosions in the Sky lends itself to very introspective rock so I think it fit correctly for the music.

A nice change of pace huh?  It certainly must have felt weird for you to stay seated at a concert haha…

.

.

Since there was no headbanging, no jumping up and down or screaming at the top of your lungs, what felt most strange was that I wasn’t soaking with sweat at the end of the concert!

.

…………let’s move on.

.

.

The next was Concert for Japan on April 09.  You may recall this was where I filmed the Luminous Washi Lanterns video.  I couldn’t go to the actual musical concert since I was filming the video the entire time, but I was able to check out an amazing art gallery that was on exhibit right next to the lobby I was filming in.  It was called “Bye Bye Kitty!!! Between Heaven and Hell in Contemporary Japanese Art.” Here are some photos of the day, mostly my favorite pieces from the exhibit.

Wow, what an amazing show!  It’s always nice to be able to see exhibits like this in person huh?

.

.

Art, like music, breathes and comes to life when viewed in person and gives an experience you simply cannot get otherwise.  But for everyone that couldn’t see this one, I found a video that shows many other pieces in the exhibit.  Notably, they show parts the general public weren’t allowed to take pictures in, as well as some interviews with some of the artists.

We’ll be posting part two with two more events very soon!  Until then, we hope you enjoyed the read!

.

.

See you soon!
