Blog – Girugamesh Concert, Sakura Matsuri
Hey everyone, as promised we’re here to give part two of Danny’s blogs! Today we’ll be covering his Girugamesh concert on April 26 and the New York Sakura Matsuri on May 01.
.
.
.
Girugamesh is one of Danny’s favorite bands. He’s been looking forward to it for a very long time!
.
.
I had one of fifty vip tickets, but I still went early at 9 am to ensure a good spot within the vip line. Girugamesh is one of my all time favorite bands, so this was only natural!
.
As crazy as ever. I don’t think that’s natural…
.
.
Well, the wait was definitely worth it. I was the first vip ticket holder in line, which meant I was the first person allowed in! I secured myself a spot in the middle of the front row, right in front of the singer. I’ve always been fairly close to the front, but never quite that close!
.
Let’s watch the first video shall we? The first and last videos are not Danny’s while the middle three are.
.
.
Setlist:
Bit Crash
No Music No Reason
Beast
Alive
Driving Time
Suiren
Dirty Story
Mission Code
I Think I Can Fly
Shining
Destiny
Vermillion
Evolution
Encore 1: Pray (English version)
Encore 2: Break Down
Wow, what a crazy show! You can get a really good sense of how close Danny really was from his videos. Especially when you juxtapose that with the other videos.
.
Being front and center at a Girugamesh concert was something very special to me. I couldn’t move my head for several days afterwards I headbanged so hard!
.
Somehow that doesn’t surprise me.
.
.
Finally here’s some pics of the night, including my signed poster~!!!
.
.
Danny also went to Sakura Matsuri at the New York Botanical Garden in Brooklyn. Sakura Matsuri means “cherry blossom festival” and is basically a festival for sakura viewing when it blooms in the spring.
.
I wasn’t able to stay too long, but I managed to take a few nice pictures as well as catch a performance of a jazz band called Morning Musuko. They’re a band that takes modern j-pop songs and re-imagines them as jazz instrumentals. It was quite interesting to listen to. They’re name comes from Morning Musume of course, the popular female j-pop group. Musume means daughter and musuko means son.

Kyaa, such pretty flowers~ Danny you should really go to these type of things more often!
.
.
Fufufu quite the girly response. Guess even violent chicks can’t help but be-

That’s it for today, we hope you enjoyed these two blogs! See you all next time~
