Hey everyone~  Marina here with Danny to give our latest blog on Anime USA!  This year’s convention was held on November 18-20 at Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia.

H-hello everyone… *cough cough*

What the?!?  Danny what happened to you???

I ended up catching the flu right before this convention.  *cough cough*

.

.

The flu huh?  Sounds rough.

.

.

I actually ended up missing Friday, the first day of the convention, because of it.  *cough cough*

.

.

Eh?  Does that mean you missed the BLOOD concert?

.

.

Unfortunately yes, but I saw them during their live in New York earlier that week, so it was alright.  *cough cough*

.

.

Well, be sure to take it easy on your body.  We all know how excited you get during your blog posts, especially when mentioning bands or artists you love.  Were you ok to go down on Saturday?

.

Of course I was!  A-anything for my fff-fans. *cough cough*

.

.

Not very convincing… and are you going to be coughing this entire post?  Anyway, as you read folks, Danny was recovering from being sick, but he managed to get to Anime USA by Saturday noon-ish.  Here’s a panorama view from his hotel room he took when he arrived.

I actually ended up rooming with DJ Sisen, one of Tainted Reality’s other guests!  But more on him later. *cough cough*

.

.

Danny was at a booth this convention, but this time around he shared it with all of Tainted Reality’s guests at one giant booth.  So the entire weekend he was with BLOOD and DJ Sisen, Tainted Reality’s two musical guests.  Here’s the gallery showing the booth, along with some other pics he snapped while walking around a bit.

Like Nekocon, I was pretty much at the booth all weekend I was there, so there aren’t as many pictures as I normally take, sorry about that!  *cough cough*

After the dealer’s room closed, Danny then headed down to the Matenrou Opera live!

Here’s some pics before the concert.  Similar to some other shows, no pictures or video were allowed during the actual concert.

I tried to take it easy on my body during the concert and stayed near the back area for the first half, but when the second half started I couldn’t stand just staying still!  I ended up making my way to the front and started headbanging like crazy haha…  *cough cough*

.

Why does that not surprise me…

.

.

But at that point, my throat was still a bit sore from coughing a lot, so I didn’t scream at all.  It was a bit surreal headbanging but not yelling or screaming at all!  *cough cough*

.

Danny was also able to get a t-shirt and a signed poster!

.

.

After the Matenrou Opera concert, Danny checked out the rave where DJ Sisen performed!

.

.

I mostly hung out backstage, but the second video is recorded from the front row of the rave.  Enjoy!  *cough cough*

What’s with the drums?

.

.

Since the rave was so soon after the Matenrou concert, a lot of their equipment was being stored backstage where I was sitting.  The photo here is actually a close up shot of Yuu’s drums! (Matenrou Opera’s drummer)  *cough cough*

Ah I see…  You didn’t take anything now, did you?

Haha… *cough* O-of course not.  *cough cough*  That just wouldn’t be right.  *cough cough*

Aaand that brings us to Sunday!

.

.

Sunday started off with me getting a picture with Matenrou Opera!  The picture turned out a bit blurry but at least I got the proof I met them haha… no calling me a liar this time!  *cough cough*

.

Yeah yeah.

Right after taking this picture, Danny had another panel for Fixer!

.

.

Tainted Reality took care of recording the panel, so I will share it with everyone once I get my hands on their video.  Other than that, I snapped two quick photos right before it started.  You can check my fan page for any other photos taken by other people!  *cough cough*

Danny then hung out at the booth afterwards, till the dealer’s room closed.

In terms of official convention business, this was pretty much it, but I did take the time to snap a photo of me with Sisen-san.  Here’s the photo along with a few other ones I snapped at the end of the con.  *cough cough*

Fufufu although the convention ended for the general public, there was still the staff after party!  *cough cough*

.

You never miss a party huh?

.

.

The coolest part was Matenrou Opera was there, so I got to hang out with them!  They were all really chill guys.  I got to drink with and talk to each member, but I ended up talking the most to Anzi-san, the guitarist.  I even gave him some of my illustration prints as a gift!  Like BORN, they don’t speak much English, but I was able to chat pretty comfortably in Japanese.  Sisen was also there, so I drank with him a bit as well… OH! and some of the BLOOD members stopped by later too!  When the party eventually ended around 3 or 4, Sisen san, Yo san from Matenrou Opera, Hayato san and Dora san from BLOOD and I hung out in another room with some other TR staff, mellowing out and talking.  And when that ended and everyone went back to their rooms, Sisen san and I ended up talking all night long about my art, Fixer, movies, a whole bunch of stuff!  A very fun night indeed!  *cough cough*

Pfft.  Here we go again.
