Hello everyone, welcome to today’s Danny’s Picks.  I’d like to share with you the opening animation sequence of the playstation 2 game Namco x Capcom!  This game was never released in the U.S. so it went largely under the radar when it was released back in 2005.  The game was developed by Monolith Soft and the opening animation was done by Production I.G.  It features the game’s main theme song “Subarashiki Shin Sekai” (Brave New World) sung by Flair.

The animation style is very reminiscent of Dead Leaves, FLCL and Gurren Lagannn so I wouldn’t be surprised if Hiroyuki Imaishi (今石 洋之) helped out in some way.  You just have to love the extreme angles, fast action, and edgy drawing style that makes all of his work so fun to watch.  Hope you all enjoyed the video, till next time!
