Maurader Level 20 “Bloody Baptism”

After the mess at Mealvaan’s gate, I head back to the Maurader’s guild in Astalicia to see if I can join the pirate guild and get some work.  I talk to Wekbyrt once I arrive there.

More on the Mauraders

The marauder is a combat specialist whose weapon of choice is the greataxe — a fearsome arm emblematic of Eorzea’s pirates. Their approach to battle is one of brute force, relying on strength and steel to crush enemies and sunder weapons.

They are highly sought after for their ferocity and intimidating presence, and are often employed to hunt down monsters plaguing the land, or to turn the tide of battle between warring nations. Throwing axes such as the francisca supplement the marauder’s arsenal, making them fearsome adversaries even at range.

While stationary, marauders are able to generate a solid base from which they are able to carry out devastating attacks.

The strength of marauders lies in their ability to control timing and distance to maximize the efficacy of their blows.

Shaku’s Journal Entries

Waekbyrt wants to become Limsa Lominsa‘s Admiral and the only way to do that is to compete in a race called the Trident, a Barracuda tradition. By assisting him, I can work my way up and gain respect among my bandit brothers and sisters.

I’ve earned a place in the Executioners-an influential pirate crew in Limsa Lominsa-but you will be starting at the bottom of the bottom, and I will have to work my way up if I want to earn any respect amongst my bandit brethren. Waekbyrt has pointed me in the general direction of one Nunuba to learn what I can do to ensure my new boss succeeds in climbing the Admiral’s chair.

Nunuba gives me a…colorful…explanation of the Trident-a winner-takes-all race used to determine Limsa Lominsa’s Admiral. My part in the festivities involves traveling to Swiftperch Tower near the hamlet of Aleport and culling a few lemmings. I can’t forget to bring back the beastkin’s tails as proof of my deed.

I was able to eliminate all the lemmings infesting the tower. I return to the Astalicia with the tails and report to Waekbyrt and Nunuba.
