First of all, you may have noticed that Danny has updated the layout of the site a bit! Namely, the two menu bars are now one menu, located on the left side of the site. Artwork can also be accessed from the top header menu. Why the change Danny?
It’s mostly “under the hood” type stuff. Dealing with having your main page in an iframe was more hassle than it was worth. Search engines will link to wordpress pages, not to the main site… Artwork images can utilize lightbox, instead of-

I’m trying to draw more consistently in my sketchbook now, so hopefully I can do a sketchbook update once a month from here on out.

haven’t been getting much sleep recently, but I felt bad not having posted in a while, so I uploaded some sketchbook pages.

I see… You recently started a new sketchbook right? So I take it these are the first few pages from that. They can be found under “Book 02″ in the sketchbook section. I’m sure your viewers appreciate you um… taking the time to upload them.

I’ve had the brilliant idea that since I’m an animator, why don’t I animate some of these icons to give some extra flare? More pizazz? More umph! See?? Look at the stars, now they sparkle~!! Isn’t it awesome~??

Ah yes, that’s right! For those of you who noticed, Danny recently animated a couple of our icons, so from now on you’ll occasionally see some animated versions of us! Now Danny, why don’t we get to announcing the updates?

Um, I guess I’ll just go ahead and announce them… First of all, we have the second episode of Danny’s Corner! You can choose any of the installments from the drop down menu above or via the left menu. We’ve also finished uploading Danny’s first sketchbook! That of course is “Book 01″ under Sketchbook on the left. Additionally, we added two more in progress drawings, as well as a couple more risd foundation figure drawings Danny had on his computer. We hope you enjoy these updates!

Marina and Danny here with another update and today we have a bunch of new stuff for you~! First off, we have a new section called “Process.” Here, we can show everyone a bit more of Danny’s artistic process and put up some in progress stuff. The first item added is character designs, can you tell us about those?
These are simply some character designs I’ve been working on recently. I haven’t finalized any of the designs yet, but I scanned in what I had so far and quickly shaded them in to show you all what I’ve currently been working on.

Yup, I”m still in the middle of scanning and uploading this first book, so these are a bunch of pages from that. I’ll probably be able to upload the rest in the next update.

And we also have a new video! This one is called “The Making of Kensho.”

Yes, “the Making of Kensho” is a short little video I put together that shows some of the behind-the-scenes in making Kensho. It features the original, first recording of the piano theme by Dione Tan. It’s mostly made up of compositing shots as most of my early work was lost in a hard drive failure I had during the school year…
