Background Info, Artist Statement

Hey everyone! and welcome to the first installment of “Danny’s Corner!”

.

.

Yo, I’m Danny.

.

.

Well then, let’s get started right away!  First off, let’s hear some background info.

.

.

Well, my name’s Danny Kang and I’m a recent graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a B.F.A in Film/Animation/Video.  I was born in Long Island, New York, as the middle child of three.  I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember, so becoming an artist was a natural choice for me.

Oh?  And what sorta things did you enjoy drawing when you were little?

.

.

Anime and video games~!  Dragonball, Final Fantasy, Evangelion, Tenchi Muyo, King of Fighters…

.

.

…what?  So in other words, you’re some sorta otaku or something?

.

.

O-otaku?!?  N-no, I’m merely an artist who’s following his passion!

.

.

Heh, sure whatever.  And?  As an artist, you’ve gotta have some sorta artist statement right?  Let’s hear it.

.

.

“I am an artist. I believe that art is not just art and that music is not just music. These forms of expression connect us to a world created by our thoughts, emotions and fantasies – our unconscious world of dreams. However, there is an immense difference between simply carrying this world within us and being aware of it. Through striking art, passionate music, and inspiring animation, I seek to create art that dives into the deep to explore the vastness of the human soul; to resurface and kindle new feelings we never knew we had. I seek to create art that touches us, that provokes us and ultimately changes us.”

What? Is that it?  Hmm, alright, guess it’s better than nothing.

.

.

I…I worked hard on that you know…

.

.

Well, that’s it for today, join us next time!
